growing

I swear our little man woke up a pound bigger this morning. I weighed him two days ago and he was 8.75 pounds, today he was 9 pounds. That's not that much actual weight difference, but he just looks and feels so much bigger! My tiny little 6 lb, 13 oz baby that we brought home from the hospital two weeks ago has already gained two pounds! Sure, sure, he's still little, but he's not tiny like he was. Only two weeks, and he's growing so much already. I think I might cry when he grows out of his tiny clothes! Goodness.

He's a snoozer. Life with a newborn, as long as mom remembers to get some sleep, isn't so bad. He sleeps most of the morning, we hang out a little in the afternoon, he sleeps some more and then we keep him awake (even when he really just wants to sleep) in the evening. He wasn't very pleased with us keeping him awake yesterday, and he starts to think he's really hungry when he's awake too long... when he's just eaten and he's definitely not actually hungry. Mom's boobs must just be comforting. Keeping him awake saves us at night though, when i can get him to sleep a good 2.5 to 3 hour stretch at least once... and when mom gets that stretch of sleep overnight, she's a much happier person during the day.
