relief
Noah's doing great. In just a few days, he went from not really being able to lift his own head to walking (with support). His balance is off, and his fine motor skills need a lot of work (he eats great, but can't feed himself). It's just amazing. And, he's been smiling through it all. What a brave kid!!! He's now at Children's Care Hospital and School in Sioux Falls. He'll get intensive therapy (three kinds, each three times a day) for one to three weeks... but everyone is guessing that it'll only be one week. This place not only houses the children, but it has room for a parent to stay with each child and provides meals for the parent for ten days. How neat is that??!! What a relief to be saving the hotel and meal expenses!
And so, now that Noah is doing so well... I'm thinking we need a little Asher update! He did SO good at the hospital all weekend! Loved being entertained by people, and got to have multiple walks up and down hallways with Grandpa Gary (resulting in falling asleep a few times). On Friday night, on our way out of the hospital to go to the hotel, we stopped and talked to my sister in the hallway and Asher (who should have been sleeping) gave her the biggest smiles he'd had all week. He talked, and smiled, and talked more and smiled! I think he knew Bec needed to smile, even if for just a moment.
Asher turned five months old on Monday! He has started lifting his upper body up on straight arms and really chewing on his toes (or socks!).
