my favorite sound in the world right now is that of little hands and knees slapping as fast as they can possibly go across the floor. I'm going to be so sad when he starts walking!

Yeah, but then you'll get to hear his tiny footsteps patter all over the house :)
It's true. The slap-slap sound just becomes a faster pit-pat sound. It's equally cute, but definitely enjoy the crawling sound while you can. You've got a mover, and I don't doubt that he'll be walking soon!
