Bikin' Fool
| From Drop Box |
Little Man figured out the concept of pedals early this summer, but had to practice a lot before he really caught on. It clicked this last week and he's becoming a pro. He started out Monday riding his 'rocket ship bike' with training wheels back and forth on the concrete patio out back - stopping to manually turn his bike around each time he got to the end of the patio. By the end of the day he was turning the bike in circles and the next day he was going around obstacles grandpa had set up for him. Wednesday we went on a little bike ride to the park and when we got back grandma was heading out for a ride on her bike - he begged, and got to go along. He pedals that little thing with all he has, making it over bumps and the slight inclines in the area with ease. He jabbers and grins and randomly yells 'woohoo!' because he's having so much fun.
Yesterday morning he and I went on a bike ride, and were out for over an hour, and this morning - with daddy taking the day off - father and son are out for a bike ride. He was so ready to go that he skipped breakfast, choosing instead to just wait for daddy to be ready to go.
He's growing up so much and I love it!

Even though I see these photos and know how old he is, it's still just so strange to me that he's old enough to be riding a bicycle. Just crazy.
I see also that he has the required summer shin bruises!
